Selangor Against Nuclear Power Plant - BERNAMA

If you have read an article about it, please do not make any rapid judgement (yes/no). Please think and consider others factor.
I'm totally disagree on the statement "We have one of the most expensive power plants, which is the Bakun dam, and I don't see the need for a nuclear power plant as an alternative".. what are the supportive reason for that statement. Is the Bakun dam where located in outside from Peninsular Malaysia can provide enough power of electricity to the whole Peninsular Malaysia, particularly in Selangor? How efficient and stable for hydro power plant can supply the power through out the years? all these questions need to be taken in considering the nuclear power plant plan and development. Plus, peoples need to know what are the advantages of nuclear power plant exactly.

Another statement that I need to extend in the article is "The government needs to also think about the effects nuclear power will have on the people as it will involve toxic waste disposal and a radioactive system that can harm the environment".. Yes, radiation is harmful and its can be controlled if a proper action is taken. Do we know that in our environment already contain radiation such as cosmic ray, ray from the sun, - yes, we can control it by preserve a green environment in order to secure the gamma-green house effect(meaning that we still control it..). And as we compare to others power plant, they also produce a waste (very big amount compare than nuclear waste) and if they are not control it, it also can be harm to the people and environment as a pollution.

For the statement from people whom knows better about nuclear application, fundamental and the advantages, this "Meanwhile, Masterskill University College of Health Sciences deputy vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Proom Promwichit said many people were unaware that nuclear power was the safest source of energy compared to others.
He said so far, its use only involved a risk of 0.007 per cent and there had yet to be accidents involving nuclear energy reactors, unless caused by human negligence." Its a very brilliant statement and view and I hope you people can look forward to give a positive view against the nuclear power plant.
