Alhamdulillah, finally I'd finished my RPO exam which been held at AELB examination hall. All the efforts and work-hard along those 2 weeks was poured in paper only 2 days for assessment. Hopefully, I can manage to pass it. Insyaallah..
Anyways, here some ideas and tips to those who does not seat the examination yet.
For day One - Theory and Specific Cluster:
a) 30 objective questions on General paper
b) 20 objective questions on Cluster paper (for me I'm taking Nuclear Gauge)
c) 2 compulsory subjective questions and 6 choose 2 of subjective questions.
All these questions must be completed within 2 and half hour. Wow... tough huh...
For day Two - Practical and Theory Paper
a) Experiment on Shielding and Distance - same as what we've done during the lab session.
b) Data interpreting and question related on the experiment - Subjective questions
Here some questions that I can recalled for you to refer.
Subjective Question (Compulsory)
1. a) What is the different between security and safety of radiation source. (6 marks)
b) Give 2 factors of criminal of radiation source, give two example for each. (4 marks)
2. a) Give 3 purposes why a survey meter need to be calibrate. (6 marks)
b) Give 4 reason why a survey meter need to re-calibrate. (4 marks)
For Nuclear gauging question:
5) A new nuclear gauge instrument has been purchased and need to installation in the work place. Before the installation what are the responsibilities of RPO need to take in order to ensure the safety of work place. Give 5 responsibilities of RPO against it. (10 marks)
6. a) Give 2 types or radiation monitoring. (2 marks)
b) Describe the above answer and give some examples. (8 marks)
Overall, I can say that for objective question (general paper) is more easy if we do the exercise on pass years question paper. For specific objective paper a bit confusing and need to evaluate more on the answers given. And subjective paper, I don't have any advice due to too many things need to memories...
Note: Please refer example question book by AELB and reed more on the security and safety.
Last but not least, best of luck to all of you.
